Starting my week with The Weekly Edit is a ritual I’ve kept for years. It’s my favourite Monday morning anchor—a chance to slow down, celebrate the ‘small wins,’ and gather the smiles from the week behind us. Part reflection and part record-keeping, it’s my way of documenting our family’s adventures before the next chapter begins.
The Weekly Edit {Week 34/2026}
Last week my son received his GCSE results. He did brilliantly and we are so proud of him and all his hard work. He confirmed his place in Sixth Form and starts next week. He was happy to celebrate with a meal at Pizza Express.
Ages ago we booked tickets for Now You See Me Live at the London Coliseum. We usually see musical theatre so this made a fun change. The magic tricks and illusions were really good and there was even some audience participation – so glad we were not sitting on the front rows.
I made a rhubarb and almond cake as we needed a sweet treat. Fresh rhubarb is so tasty as this time of year and works really well in a cake. It’s perfect for elevenses when I’m working from home.
We took the youngest teen to the cinema to watch The End of Oak Street. She really enjoyed the film, which was a little like Jurassic World with dinosaurs running through the streets. It was good escapism for a couple of hours.
Well done to your son, great news. The theater trip sounds great too. I’m a huge rhubarb fan, I can imagine how good that cake tasted.

This show sounds like it was fun to watch but I am with you and would not want to have been called for participation LOL…. I would have avoided that front row too. I definitely need to book something for me and my husband…. we are due for a good day out 😉
